The Children’s Health Market is working to create a program especially designed for physical educators who are required to teach health in a PE setting. We are hosting our first PE Writers Workshop to be held in Austin, TX on June 12-13, 2014. The workshop will be led by Dr. Brian Dauenhauer and held at the University of Texas Elementary School in Austin, TX.
The goal of the two-day event is to gather elementary PE teachers together to write Prek- 6th grade skill-themed activities that address both the National PE Standards and integrate the National Health Education Standards using THE GREAT BODY SHOP. We are looking for fun, energetic, creative, and “out-of-the- box” thinkers that are interested in new ways of delivering THE GREAT BODY SHOP through movement and physical education skills.
The Children’s Health Market will pay each participant all expenses and a $300/day stipend for their work. It is an opportunity to network with other highly qualified professionals in the field and have some fun experimenting with novel ways of integrating health and PE. If you are interested in participating, please email Dr. Brian Dauenhauer at brian.dauenhauer@unco.edu.
