PEP Grant Dropped from President Obama’s 2011 Budget!!
Background: Ladies and Gentlemen! It appears that the President has dropped the Carol M. White PEP Grants from his 2011 budget. This item has been zeroed out!! This means no more PEP Grant funding in the future! No more new PEP Grants! No more funding for existing PEP Grants!!

Action: We need to alert Congress as quickly as possible with a strong and persistence voice! Here’s one quick thing each of you can do:
- Click on the above graphic and e-mail your Senators (2 per state) and Congressman (you have one representing your district) asking them for their support to add the PEP Grant funds back into the 2011 Congressional budget.
- Email your State AHPERD to let them know that you want them to “spread the word” that the PEP Grants are being eliminated.
- What to say – 3 things – (1) Say who you are (a PE teacher at xx school, city. state), (2) that you are unhappy that the Carol M. White PEP Grants were not included in the President’s 2011 budget, and (3) that you are counting on their support to put the PEP Grant funds back into the 2011 Congressional budget.
- Of course to can add other items too (ex: why PE is important in the fight against childhood obesity).
