An American flag flies over the damaged gym at Henryville Jr.-Sr. High School in southern Indiana. The school was hit by an F4 tornado last Friday.
Background: We just sent out a “PE Care Package” to Kalie Carlisle today – several physical education books and a subscription to the Great Activities Newspaper – not much; but hopefully it will be a sign of support for this second year PE teacher. Kalie Carlisle is a physical education teacher at Henryville Junior and Senior High School. Her gym is pictured above. Kalie writes:
I teach 7th and 8th grade physical education and health. Our school was destroyed by the tornado that swept through our community.
- We are looking for physical education and health items that will help us rebuild.
- This is only my second year of teaching and I need some help so we can help our students get through this tragedy.
- We really want to focus on bringing the students together, cooperative learning games; anything at all will help!
- Items can be sent to my house: 431 N. Ferguson Street, Henryville, Indiana 47126
- I can be contacted at kcarlisle@henryville.wclark.k12.in.us
- Thank you so much for your willingness to help!
