2010 Florida AHPERDS Convention! Two weeks ago, we have traveled to Orlando, Florida. A few special thanks and shout-outs:
- To Executive Director Karen Dowd, who puts on a terrific convention at a great venue (Caribe Royale Resort and Conference Center – site of the 2012 National AHPERD Convention!). They had a rocking – “take-me-out-to-the ball-game” social and dance. The place was packed! The food was great and the folks on the dance floor were having a good time!
- To President Roxanne Baker (Escambia County Schools), who did an excellent job in her role as #1 Leader and In-Charge “Action Hero” during the convention proceedings!
- To Manny Harageones [faithful “PE Buddy,” former PE Consultant for Florida Department of Education, and co-conspirator along with me, George Graham, and others in the failed “United States Physical Education Association” (USPE) effort that was launched in 1995] for his wisdom, understanding of curriculum, and being retired!
- To Sally White, Valerie Harville, Pam Oliver (retired), and the many other terrific members of Florida’s PEP Squad (Physical Education Promoters)!
