It appears that things are in a “holding pattern” for the moment. While the Office of Safe & Drug-Free Schools has not set a definite date for the RFP (Request for Proposals) announcement, the “word on the street” is that it will be before June 30th. If this turns out to be true, the grant applications will be due in early or mid-August. Not the best time for public school folks for several reasons:
(1) Completion of the SHI will prove to be harder with schools being out of session.
(2) Any last-minute student surveys (to gather data) would not be able to be completed.
But on the other hand, those of you who have already done all of the basic work will be in great position!
