(Monday, March 15th) Today is the second day of the Society’s Annual Meeting. For those of you unfamiliar with the history and purpose of this organization, the Society was founded in 1926 and is a national organization comprised of individuals employed in state and territorial departments of education who have program responsibilities in school health education, physical education, and related areas.
Yesterday was a very productive day, as Howell Wechsler, Director of the Division of Adolescent and School Health (DASH), provided the keynote address to a group of 60-70 state-level professionals. Today, we’ll hear from Lori Rose Benson (New York City Schools) as she presents what has been accomplished in one of the nation’s largest school districts.
